Fundamental principles
Parkyvo works based on collaboration between neighbors. These principles are the foundation for a positive experience for everyone:
Respect
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Consistency
Keep your commitments and vacate the spot on time.
Transparency
Communicate openly if problems arise.
Common spots (visitors)
Common spots are managed by community administration and intended for temporary use — usually for visitors or occasional needs.
How to reserve a common spot
- Access the "Parking requests" section in the app
- Select the desired period (within community settings)
- Specify the reason: visitor, unloading, etc.
- Add the vehicle (license plate number)
- Submit the request
Depending on community settings, the request can be approved automatically or may require admin approval.
Usage rules
- ✓Duration: Respect the maximum duration allowed by the community
- ✓Purpose: Use the spot only for the declared purpose
- ✓Vacation: Vacate the spot before the reservation expires
- ✓Cancellation: If you no longer need it, cancel the reservation in advance
What happens if you exceed the time?
Repeated time violations may result in restricted access to common spots. Community admins monitor compliance with rules.
Private spots
Private spots belong to individual members, who can choose to make them available to others when not in use.
How to offer your spot
If you have a private spot and want to make it available:
- Access "Availabilities" in the app
- Create an availability for the period when the spot is free
- Choose whether to accept reservations automatically or prefer manual approval
- Publish the availability
How to reserve a private spot
If you need parking and there are private spots available:
- Search for existing availabilities in the community
- Check if the period matches your needs
- Send a reservation request
- Wait for confirmation (automatic or from owner)
Obligations
For owner
- • Only offer intervals when the spot is truly free
- • Vacate the spot on time for the person who reserved
- • Respond promptly to requests
- • Cancel availability if plans change
For reserver
- • Respect arrival and departure times
- • Vacate the spot before the end of reservation
- • Do not exceed the reservation limit
- • Cancel in advance if you no longer need it
What to do if the spot is occupied?
If you arrive and your reserved spot is occupied by someone else, use the app to contact that person or community admins. Parkyvo cannot physically vacate the spot but facilitates communication.
Privacy in community
Respecting privacy is essential for a healthy community:
Forbidden: "License plate hunting"
Do not use license plate numbers to identify or track people. Numbers are for identifying cars in parking, not owners.
What information do you see about other members?
Depending on community settings, you may see: member names, active reservations, and possibly the last 4 characters of the license plate number. Admins have access to additional information for community management.
Details about the operator can be found on the dedicated page.
Configurable rules
Each community can customize certain rules. Your community admins have configured specific settings for:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Maximum duration | How long you can reserve a common spot (e.g., 4 hours, 24 hours) |
| Reservation horizon | How far in advance you can make a reservation (e.g., 7 days) |
| Approval | Whether reservations are automatic or require admin approval |
| License plate visibility | How license plates are displayed (hidden, last 4, complete for admins) |
| Contact verification | Whether email/phone verification is required for certain features |
| Private spots | Whether the private spot sharing feature is enabled |
Contact your community admins to learn the specific settings in effect.
